10 Years Later: "To be a friend of Rita’s was a privilege."
Last week we hit the road to Visalia in my Uncle's crowded Subaru to celebrate the life of my Aunt Rita. Despite being gone for 10 years there was a wonderful turnout and some even better stories to be told in her memory.
A road trip isn't a road trip without one or two stops. I needed ice cream. Al jauntly flipped the blinker and pulled off at Dairy Queen for Buster Bars. If you're like me and have never heard of them you may want to "Experience layer after layer of chocolate fudge, peanuts and DQ® soft serve dipped in luscious chocolate flavored coating."
My sister Kendall and I at the celebration for my aunt. Doing our usual [insert loved one] here, missing Caitlin in this instance.
At what was once my aunt's business. They've changed the name, but there's still plenty of reminders of my Aunt in their new office which made me happy to see. The women in the office raved about our annual Christmas cards, it was obvious they meant it!
