Break out the ’80s fashion: The CW hit Gossip Girl is getting a prequel. Airing May 11, the pilot for the show’s spinoff will move from NYC to L.A. and jump back two decades to chronicle the wild teen years of Kelly Rutherford’s character, Lily, as she gets kicked out of her posh private school and has to deal with -gasp!- public education.
