Do you ask permission to kiss on the first date?!

This was a topic of conversation this morning on the Wake Up Call and I say no, no, NO!!  In fact I felt so strongly on the topic that I text in:

Gross!  Absolutely not.  You SHOULD know by the end of the date if she’ll be receptive to you kissing her.  If not then just DON’T.  Asking totally kills the mood.

That seems very “high school” and my girlfriends and I used to laugh at those guys WHEN we were in H.S. ;)

Am I right?  I feel the only exception would be once you have become a steady couple then it would be construed at cute or some attempt at chivalry.
